"Great night out, good value for money, educational, fun, responsible. Thanks heaps, made me realise that even though my BAC was low, it’s still important not to drive after drinking. It should be introduced to all areas. ‘Sarah’"

"Sample of testimonials from various participants: Fantastic session – very informative yet what it really showed is that there are no real patterns. Best not to even try and measure/guess – just take a taxi! Spending time with friends. Education of my own body. Helps make good decisions about drinking and driving. Meeting new people and watching them change as they relaxed and have the alcohol affect them. Seeing the extremes with the goggles (special goggles simulating various BAC’s) on and how they affect your judgement. The company and watching everyone’s reaction to drinking. It was great to see what effects alcohol had on me and the time delay on my system. Clear understanding about alcohol and very responsible. "

"This extended training for our bar staff has really helped our venue. The staff working behind the bar have a better understanding of the risks to me and themselves if they serve intoxicated people. We're working with the police to make our venue the safest place around."

"The games. The realisation of how red wine effects my body. It was surprising and informative as to how alcohol keeps increasing even though your stop drinking. The officers friendliness and info was fantastic."

"It was really interesting watching the guy who didn't say much during the night. He's the type who could sit there all night in a pub and not look affected until he got up. "

"Summary of testimonials from 28th October 2008 ... What did you like MOST about the being safe not sorry program ... I found it very informative and have learnt more about drinking and driving through this program than other promotions on the TV or media ... This was a fun evening ... The games and learning about how alcohol affects me ... Getting to spend some ‘out of work’ time with work mates .... Getting to meet the officers ... Very enjoyable evening, fun friends and great hosts ... I thought all the people involved in this program were very organised and fun. It has given me a good understanding of safe alcohol management ... I think they should incorporate a driving simulation to see what the real effect is to alcohol ...I think there should be more young people involved in this program. ... The games were really fun. This was a real learning curve for me as to how alcohol reacts with me. ... I liked the games and using the beer goggles. "
